Wallace “Sonny Boy” Burns, 74, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Pastor Mike Lewis officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Sonny Boy was born in Shamrock, FL (Dixie County) and was raised in Gainesville, FL to the late Thomas V. and Grace Witt Burns. He served in the United States Air Force and was retired from Barrington Manufacturing as a Sales Manager. He was of the Baptist faith. Sonny Boy was an avid Florida Gators Fan and loved sports and bought and sold guns and was an avid gun shooter. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Burns of Lizella, sons, Wallace Leon Burns, Jr., Travis (Patricia) Burns, Tracy (Kathy) Burns, grandchildren, Tyler, Derek, Bridget, Danielle, and Matthew, great grandchildren, Holly and Emma, and sister, Dorothy (Joe) Burns of TX.
