Wallace English, Jr., 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at his residence. Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with memorial services following at 11 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mark Magoni and the Rev. Jimmy Asbell will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Monday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. They suggest that those who wish may make memorial contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church Building Fund, 4256 Hartley Bridge Road, Macon 31216.
Mr. English was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Suggs English and by his brother, A. Fred English. A native of Macon, he was the son of the late Berry Wallace English, Sr. and Eunice L. Briggs English. Mr. English was a graduate of Lanier High School for Boys and served with the U. S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre aboard the USS Woodworth. He was a machinist and welder and had worked for Wade and Son, Southern Central Railroad, and was FAA Systems Analyst retired from Wilson Airport. Mr. English was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees, the Administrative Board and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his children, Ken English of Midvale, UT, Kim English, and Keith and Dr. Kathleen English, all of Macon; his grandson, Nick (Jen) Martin; great grandchildren, Jonathan and Will Martin; several nieces and nephews.
