Vernon Jesse "Hobo" Wealot, Sr., age 77, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024. The family will greet friends from 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Friday, September 27, 2024, at Snow's at Macon Memorial Park. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, September 29, 2024, in the chapel of Snow's at Macon Memorial Park with private entombment at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wealot was born May 2, 1947, in Macon and had lived most of his life in Jones County. He was the son of the late Johnnie H. Wealot Sr. and Clemmie Lee Bates Wealot. Mr. Wealot was a self-employed carpenter but his ultimate passion was fishing. He held the "unofficial" record for Lake Harding for Crappie. Mr. Wealot also enjoyed cooking his catches for his family and friends and also enjoyed reading. He was preceded in death by his wife: Valetta Grooms Wealot; son: Brian Wealot; daughter: Tonya Schroeder; grandson: Blake Wealot; and brothers: Johnnie Wealot, Jr. and Michael Wealot.
Mr. Wealot is survived by his sons: Shannon Wealot (Amanda) and Vernon Wealot, Jr. (Brande); grandchildren: Hunter Wealot (Sierra), Faith Wealot Landreth (Connor), Alivia Wealot, Trinity Wealot, Tyler Wealot, Ellie Wealot, Corey Wealot, Jesse Wealot, Jessica Wealot, Amber Schroeder and Rikki Schroeder; brother: Kenneth Wealot (Marilyn); sister: Deborah Wealot; eleven great-grandchildren and by several nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
