Verna Agnes Jones Yates “Pat”, 92, passed away on Tuesday, November 05, 2019. A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Chapel with the Rev. Bob Hamilton officiating. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Verna was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Vernon Jones and Nellie Bates Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Luther Yates, daughter, Bunny Yates, two sisters, Norma Thompson and Lucille Rycroft. Verna was a lifelong member of Northridge Baptist Church and the Hilltoppers Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Yates of Macon, two grandsons, Jason (Melanie) Yates, Ryan Yates, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
