Valerie Middlebrooks Dillon, 46, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Bishop Tim England officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:30 p.m. to service time.
Valerie was born in Provo, Utah on November 18, 1975. She lived briefly in Provo and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, but grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she was a cheerleader in middle school and attended La Cueva High School. Before her senior year, Valerie's family moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia and she graduated from Killian Hill Christian School. She attended Dekalb College and worked as a general manager for Australian Body Works. After two years in California, Valerie moved back to Macon, Georgia, where she attended Macon State college, majoring in nursing, In 2014, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Kelly Dillon, and on July 25th 2015 they got married in Macon, Georgia. She joined him and his three children in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2017 the family moved to Georgia.
Valerie was a devoted and loving wife and mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend. She found purpose in caring for others and her greatest joy was her family. She served in her community -- as a volunteer in the Atlanta Festival of Trees to raise funds for Egleston Children's Hospital, and also helping manage events for Get Active Atlanta to promote health and well-being of Atlanta citizens. She loved being outdoors, going to the beach or lakes, and she loved gardening. She enjoyed decorating and she excelled in business sales. Valerie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Valerie was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin Persons Middlebrooks III, Deborah Ann Timmis Middlebrooks and Ralph Owen Baird III; grandmother, Anne Bailey Middlebrooks, and brother, Rollin Persons Middlebrooks IV.
She is survived by her husband, Kelly Dillon of Flowery Branch; children, Sydney Dillon of Knob Noster, Missouri and Skylar and Mason Dillon of Flowery Branch; grandfather, Rollin Persons Middlebrooks, Jr. of Macon; sisters, Leslie Middlebrooks (Derek) Lipsey of Gray; Laura Baird Barnett, Elizabeth Baird Gubler, Karalyn Baird, Natalie Baird, and brother, Ryan Baird, and several nieces and nephews.
