Thomas Obie Cauley

Thomas Obie Cauley, 72, of Macon, Georgia peacefully passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday, February 5, 2024. A celebration will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. Serving as pallbearers, Roger Heath, Gabe Bryson, Jimmy Entrekin, Jesse Cook, Lucas Howell and Sam Scoggins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church 5455 Mt. Pleasant Church Road Macon, Ga 31216.

Thomas was born in Seguin, Texas on February 21, 1951. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Obie B. and Mary Lois Heath Cauley; brother, Daniel Cauley; grandson, Maddox Bryan Cauley. He is survived by his wife, Clara Willis Cauley; children, Bryan Cauley (Anna) & Lori Cox (Kevin); step-daughters, Tami Entrekin (Jimmy) & Tara Gillis (Darrell); grandchildren, Grayson Cauley, Madison Cauley, Jacob Sharp, Kellan Cox & Levi Cox; siblings, Mary Green (Larry) & David Cauley (Janice).

Thomas attended Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for many years. Thomas served his country in the United States Army. Retiring from Ashland Chemical after 43 years, Thomas enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones. His children, especially his grandchildren, brought so much joy to his life. Watching them play sports was one of his favorite things to do. Thomas was a huge sports fan, most importantly an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He passed on his love for UGA to his son which led them to many trips to Athens to watch the Bulldogs play. Thomas was a man of many words, he never met a stranger, and was always sure to learn something new about whomever he was talking to. Thomas will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
