Theodore “Mr. Ted” Gidean Brinson “17.5”, age 59, of Macon, GA, passed away December 26, 2021. The family will greet friends on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Snow’s Memorial Chapel-Pio Nono Ave. and Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am (service following at the church). A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Harvest Cathedral Church, 2254 Rocky Creek Road at 11:00 am with Adrienne Mayfield officiating. Interment will be held immediately following the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, 3969 Mercer University Dr., Macon.
Ted was born February 25, 1962 to the late Albert Gilmore and Maidie Brinson Gilmore in Washington County, Georgia. He lived a happy, fruitful life and touched many lives along his journey. Theodore (Teddy) loved sports and was a true Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Hawks fan. In his earlier years, he played tennis and enjoyed working out. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and contributed to any cause that he thought would help someone. Theodore made a difference wherever he went.
Teddy was married to Brenda Brinson for 17 years and to this union three beautiful children, Katheine, Marnier and “Lil Ted” were born. Teddy is a graduate of Washington County High School. He earned a B.S. in Business from Morris Brown College and worked as a computer systems engineer for BellSouth Telecommunications for many years. Later due to his entrepreneurial spirit, he owned several businesses as a real estate investor. Teddy was employed with Bibb County Sheriff’s Department since 2009.
Teddy was a loving and devoted husband, father, godfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marnier Brinson. Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy are his wife, Brenda Brinson; children, Katherine Fitzhugh of Atlanta GA, and Theodore G. Brinson, Jr. of Macon, GA; five sisters, Carol Gray (Nathaniel), Edith (Ann) Ellerbee, Edrena Cooper, Mytrice Scott, and Marion Thornton; two brothers Johnnie Hickson and Howard Brinson (Lena); bonus siblings Carol Jenkins and Silas Butler; godsons, Ricco Coleman and Zackary V. Girtman; goddaughter, Nytest Pitts; Ariana Badner; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and his Macon-Bibb Sheriff’s Department family.
