Sylvia Buntyn McGowan, 79, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Due to Covid, private graveside services FOR IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Chaplain Scott McMillan will officiate. Mrs. McGowan was born in Thomaston, Georgia the daughter of the late Helen Blankenship Buntyn and Aldine Buntyn and was the widow of Bobby Lee McGowan. She was a teacher's aid having worked for 28 years for the Bibb County Public School System. Mrs. McGowan was of the Baptist faith and dearly loved the Lord.
Mrs. McGowan is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Kevin) Sark of Macon and Susan (John) Manning of Macon; grandsons, Darrell (Raven) Callaway, Jason Parrish, Timothy (Amy) Sark, and Lance (Lindsey) Manning; great-granddaughters, Finley and Sawyer Sark, and Lily Manning; siblings, Beverly Smith Jones and Dean Buntyn; several nieces and nephews.
