She was born on July 5, 1928 to the late Betty Rusmisell Webb and Floyd Benton Webb.
Sara retired from Southern Living Magazine and was a resident of Carlyle Place. She was a member of Vineville Baptist Church. Sara loved her family, music and reading. Her sense of humor will be greatly missed.
She is survived by a niece, Betty Akins of Woodstock, GA (Bill); a great niece, Julie King of Decatur, GA (Mark); a great nephew, Bill Akins of Bentonville, AR (Karen); four great great nephews, Owen King, Myles King, Henry Akins and Oliver Akins; and many cousins.
In addition to her parents Sara is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Lewis Amos Williams; her son, Lewis Dave Williams; a sister, Carolyn Webb Wagnon; and a brother, Floyd Filmore Webb.
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to her beloved caregivers; Sabrina Watts-Mays, Wendy Calloway, Angela Banks, and Ruth Brantley for all their love and devotion.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Kremer officiating. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31204.
