Sara E. Jones

Sara Edna Rodgers Jones, 85, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, April 2, 2017. A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Thursday, April 6 at 10 a.m. at Highland Hills Baptist Church. Dr. James Bruner, Rev. Cass Ducharme and Dr. Jake Hall will officiate. The family will greet friends in the sanctuary following the service. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Highland Hills Baptist Church Organ Restoration Fund, 1370 Briarcliff Road, Macon, 31211.

Sara was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Edna Mixon Rodgers and Joe Rodgers. She retired from Art Furniture. Sara was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church and active in the choir. She was a member of the Sara Harrell Sunday school class. Sara was a past member and very active in the Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post #3 and Women of the Moose.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Carlton Wellborn Jones Sr.; children, Carlton Wellborn Jones, Jr. of Macon and Ellen Jones Scott (Tom) of Bonaire; grandchildren, Christopher Scott and Lauren Scott. The family would like to thank the caregivers of Pruitt Healthcare for their compassion and comfort to Sara.
