Rose Anne Kelley Hopkins, age 75, of Lake Oconee, passed away in Dahlonega, GA following an extended illness. She was born in Washington, DC, to the late Evelyn Jackson Kelley and Howard Kelley. She grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia and graduated from Warner Robins High School.
Rose Anne is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in Journalism. Her work career included the Girls Scouts of Middle Georgia and Armstrong World Industries.
Rose Anne was married to the late Roger Hopkins. They lived in Macon, Monroe County, and most recently, Lake Oconee for the past 20 years. She was a devoted UGA football fan and loved watching the Saturday games on TV with lots of family and friends huddled around the television and while also listening to Larry Munson on the radio.
“Rosie” will always be remembered for her deep love of hosting family and friends at large gatherings at the lake. She especially loved making ten-layer chocolate cakes and many other treats that were her family favorites.
Rose Anne's children are Steve Hopkins of Grayson; Bonnie Hopkins (Donn Kester) of Macon; Chris Hopkins (Christa) of Dahlonega; and Kimberly Buchanan (Mark) of Dahlonega. Her grandchildren are Donnie Kester of Macon, Kate Reynolds of Richmond Hill, GA, Cole, Carter and Hallie Hopkins of Dahlonega, and Elijah and Lucy Buchanan of Dahlonega. Rose Anne’s Great-Grandchildren are Andrew, Kaelyn and Zoey Kester of Cochran and Ella and Nora Reynolds of Richmond Hill. She is also survived by her brothers Mike (Pat), Richard and Steve Kelley, numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves behind many other treasured family members and friends.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, Macon, Georgia. Burial will be private for family only in Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Joe McDaniel and Rev. Morgan Green will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.
