Ronald (Ron) Purvis, 48, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Marty Watson and the Rev. Foster Bell will officiate. Serving as Pallbearers will be Danny Helton, Logan Hemphill, Steve Heath, Cliff Parham, Kevin Hulette and Bob O'Reilly. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Those who wish may make donations to their favorite charity.
Mr. Purvis was a lifelong resident of Macon and was a machinist. He was a member of Avondale Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman and car enthusiast. He was the brother of the late Gary Lee Purvis, Sr.
Survivors include his daughter, Shelby (Daniel) Hall; his parents, Mildred and Fred Purvis; his sister, Debbie (Bob) Hartley; a granddaughter, Layla Hall and nieces and nephew, Brooke Herndon, Brittany Heartley, Lee Purvis and Hartley Purvis.
