Robert Andrew Simmons, Sr., 56, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 721 Highway 42, Byron. The family will greet friends from 5 until 7 PM Tuesday at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Simmons was born in Haddock, Georgia the son of the late David Simmons and was preceded in death by his two brothers, Willie David Simmons and Calvin Simmons. He was a former employee of Rheem for 31 years and worked for the Bibb County Board of Education for the past 5 years. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he served as an Elder. Mr. Simmons loved his family, was a devoted family man, and was a faithful husband.
Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Katrina “Kathy” Robbins Simmons of Warner Robins; children, Robert Andrew Simmons, Jr. (Erica) of Lawrenceville, Andrea Simmons Kpama (Kossivi) of Stone Mountain; Cameron Scott Simmons (Shamonika) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Lathan, Cameron, and Camille; mother, Eliza Bowers Simmons; brother, Dennis Simmons (Renee) of Monroe; sisters, Carolyn Fairfax, Evelyn Henderson (Harold), Myra Fisher, and Anita Simmons; father-in-law, Fred A. Robbins, Sr.; mother-in-law, Irene Robbins; brother-in-law, Fred A. Robbins, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Kelly Finney (James) and Wanda Small (Israel); numerous nieces and nephews.
