Macon, GA- Robert Ray Rozier, Sr., 85, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his children. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors. The Rev. John Whitehead will officiate. The family will meet friends from 1 p.m. to service time on Sunday at the funeral home. They may be contacted at the Rozier residence.
Mr. Rozier was saddened in July by the death of his devoted wife of sixty-four years, Jane Yarbrough Rozier. Son of the late Robert Reubin and Clifford Arnold Rozier, he was born in Danville and served with the U. S. Navy during World War II receiving the Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal. Mr. Rozier was a foreman retired from Armstrong World Industries. He attended First Evangelical Church and United Community Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by those he loved.
Survivors include his children, Kathy (Ken) Whitehead, Sandra (Butch) McCallister and Robert (Darlene) Rozier, Jr., all of Macon; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; his sister, Julia Lamb of Danville and several nieces and nephews.
