On behalf of all of us we send our sincerest condolence for your loss of this truly wonderful man.  We were privileged to have had Mr. Cramer as our teacher, principal and coach at Byron High School. His positive influence on us during those formative years will always be cherished and we will remember him fondly.

Dear Susan & Family,
Your Dad made 1st grade at Byron Elementary so much fun.  I loved the days he would bring in the old green mats from the Byron gymnasium and tumble with us -- much to the dismay of Miss Peggy Norman.  I also enjoyed your Mom's science classes.  I'll never forget a Friday morning in 8th grade science with her, when the first snowflakes fell that were the start of the Great Middle GA Snow of 1973.  I have fond memories of them both; they've left a wonderful legacy.  sincerely,

What a wonderful influence Mr. Cramer was on all of the students at BHS.  He will always be remembered by those of us lucky enough to have been part of his life in Byron.  My condolences to his family and friends.              Class of 65

I always liked seeing Dr.Cramer.In trying to think of how to best describe him, "Exemplary" comes to mind because that is the type of person he was. I'm glad he lived a good life right to the end and I know many will miss him. I also admire his perseverance with Fort Hawkins all those years.

What a fantastic teacher, coach and human being has passed into Heaven.  Mr. Cramer, you brought Shakespeare to life for us and made so many positive contributions to our young lives. Dear Cramer Family,  Colonel Bob and I served together in the US Army  for many years.  He was an outstanding officer. His love of his country and our free way of life made him a true patriot and we will miss him. Col Jodie Thrasher.

Coach Garvin and I were saddened to learn about Bob's passing. We counted him among our friends and remember him with affection. Our sympathy to all of you and special thoughts to those we taught and/or coached.

Dear Cramer Family,

I was a 1967 graduate of Byron High School.  Joe Cramer was in my class.  Tim Cramer was in the class below me with Kathy Waldrip.  I played basketball for Mr. Cramer.  What a role model he was for me.  I have always thought the world of Mr. Cramer.  I am so sorry to hear that he is gone.  He was such a good man.  The last time I saw him was a couple of years ago at a reunion.  He looked so good.  I was stunned to learn he was 85.  He looked to me like he was in his late 60's or early 70's.  I guess I should have know.  He was always so young looking.  I thank God I had the opportunity to interact with him in my youth.

Dear Cramer Family, 

Mr Cramer was the biggest influence on my life at Byron High School.  I graduated in 1965 and I've never forgotten him.  He was a very special person both as an educator and as human being.  I'll never forget the way he talked to us and encouraged us to accomplish all we could.  He was always intelligent, caring and fair.  And he'd get out in the gym and show us all how to do it with his one handed pull ups.  What a fantastic person he was.  I know he must have influenced thousands of young people.  He will be greatly missed.  I don't think they make 'em like him anymore.  My family extends its heart-felf condolences to the Cramer Family.  He is a great loss for all of us.

Dr. Cramer was a good friend and a devoted member of the Ocmulgee Archaeological Society and the Society for Georgia Archaeology for many years. There will be an empty chair at our monthly meetings now, in the spot where he and Mike sat together.  He helped me out at so many Artifact ID Days over the years, and shared his friendly smile and knowledge of Southeastern Indians with everyone who brought us artifacts to identify. Without him the ongoing Fort Hawkins excavations would never have begun. He loved to dig, an always got the requisite legal permissions from landowners. Although an amateur archaeologist, he was an inspiration to many of us professionals. His amazing collection is a testimony to his many years of collecting, and he never failed to bring cases of his artifacts to share with the public. I hope the Dr. Robert J. Cramer, Sr. Collection can be put on permanent display one day for future generations to enjoy and to learn from. My thoughts are with Mike, Mrs. Cramer, and the family. God bless.

Uncle Bob gave me my first taste of geology in the form of the Georgia state mineral-the Staurlite Cross. He gave out many staurlite crosses to all who gathered during special times. He also gave so much more-himself-to all who needed his help and guidance. I miss you Uncle Bob and I know you are happy in heaven!

I don't really know what to say.. I'm so glad I got to see you a few weeks ago and watch as you were strongly squeezed by Zeplin and Sara and the joy in your eyes to see the lineage you have created. I always remember how you would joke about the chime of your hearing aid when I hugged you so close. I know how you were there or me on my death bed when I was 4 and I know your relationship and faith in God along with the family is what miraculously saved my life.

You have been an inspiration and a guiding light for many, thank you for showing me Christ and helping me develop the faith I've had from a young age, it has helped me more than you'll ever know. 

Please tell Nina I miss her cheese and crackers and I will always call you Peepaw even though it sounds like peanut.

Mr. Cramer made such an enormous impact on so many of us at Byron High School.  We were provileged to have him as teacher, coach, and principal while we were there. Mr. Cramer played a big part in my life growing up in the 60s at Byron High.  I know he will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Cramer family. What a full life an he touched so many lives along the way.

He was my principal at WT Morgan. He was a great guy.

Dr. Cramer will always be known as our Chairman Emeritus of the Fort Hawkins Commission since he patiently guided us for 15 years and his wise counsel has guided and motivated me these past 6 years. We have lost a real Friend of Fort Hawkins, but it is a better place today because of him and we will always honor his memory there.  I will miss Bob dearly and Lisa & I send our love to Mary and the Family.

Bob Cramer was a wonderful man.  He was a true believer in the power of family, a good education, and his faith in God.  I have a solid, oak rocking chair in my classroom today.  It has been mine for thirty-two years.  Uncle Bob gave it to me when I first started teaching.  He said, "Every good, elementary teacher should have a rocking chair in their classroom to read from, hold a hurt child, or just sit and reflect from."  There is not a day that goes by that when I sit in my chair, I think of those loving words.  My family and I will miss Uncle Bob very much.  Peace Be with You as you join your family in heaven.

I wish to express my condolences to the family of Mr. Cramer, as he was known to us as principal of Byron High School. He was a wonderful influence and inspiration to me and my classmates. It has been a great joy in recent years to see his smiling face and relive school days with him at BHS reunions. Middle Georgia has lost a unique contributor and his family an honored patriarch.

I never did anything that you wanted me to at Byron High. At a ripe old age I can't get through a day without ddoing at least one thing you taught me. My prayers go with you and your family.

In the short time I lived in Gray, Dr. Bob was a frequent visitor at Altman Industries and a strong believer in friends and family.  I was proud to call him my friend and I know, watching him with his kids and grandkids he will be sorely missed.  God speed, Dr. Bob!!!

Uncle Bob was a special man in the lives of so many people.  There is no telling how many lives he touched, mentored, and guided over the past years.  I will always treasure the time when he brought his numerous Native American relics to share with my first graders in my first year of teaching.  That was over 20 years ago and it seems as if it was yesterday.  I learned so much from him that day and I know my students did.  He and dad were very close brothers and certainly raised some fine children.  I miss those Easter celebrations at his house in Lizella.  He was the last of their generation but what a legacy he left.  He will surely be missed but I know the family reunion he is having with the family in Heaven is quite a celebration.  We will keep Mary and all of the family in our prayers as they manage this great loss.  We love you, Lanie and Breeze Helms and Family

I worked with Dr Cramer at the Bibb County  Board of Education when he was an Assistant Superintendent.  He was truly a gentleman and a scholar

I had the privilege of working with Dr.Cramer when he was principal at Clisby. He shared his love of Native American artifacts with all who knew him.  I will always remember the many contributions he made to education and his community. My prayers are with the family he loved so much.

Dr Cramer was an inspiration to everyone in the field of archeaology and rarely missed an event of the Ocmulgee Archeological Society. His  keen intellect and warm smile made him everyones "favorite member" and we will truly miss him.Bob was 85 but always young at heart and we had hoped he would be with us for many more years. Bobba I love you and miss you already. I thank God for blessing us with you. Thank you for always being there and loving all of us. You always had room in your heart for every one of us and I hope you know how very much I admired you. Thank you For being such a wonderful Grandfather to David. He loves you so much and enjoyed visiting with you recently. I know that he is a better person for knowing you. I believe we all are! 

I will always remember your smile, your laugh and the wonderful stories you would tell. I could listen to you for hours. You had the kindest soul and best outlook of anyone that I've ever known. There will never be anyone like you.
