MACON – Robert Deane Alger, III, 24, died Sunday, April 4, 2010. Funeral services will be private. The family will meet friends from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street and asks all who attend to dress VERY casually. They request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Elam Alexander Academy, 3769 Ridge Avenue, Macon, GA 31204.
Mr. Alger was born in Chattanooga, TN and had lived in Macon most of his life. He was attending Valdosta State University and was a member of the Naval Reserve. Deane was a member of Christ Chapel Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and fully enjoyed kayaking and fishing. Deane was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul L. Parrish and his grandparents, Robert Deane Alger, Jr. and Gladys M. Alger.
Survivors include his father, Steve Alger of Macon; his mother, Angel Alger of Macon; sister and brother, Tracy S. Alger of Miami, FL and Brent A. Biles of Valdosta; his grandmother, Cuba R. Parrish of Valdosta; uncles, Michael R. (Donna) Alger of Panama City, FL and Tony (Becky) Parrish of Valdosta; aunts, Paula (Jack) Arnold of Ocala, FL and Vicki (Tony) Franks of Valdosta and numerous cousins.
Snow’s Memorial Chapel Funeral and Cremation Services, Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
