Richard R. NeSmith, 70, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Derrick Jackson officiating. The family will greet from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Richard was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Barney Ray NeSmith and Marjorie Samuel. He was preceded in death by his son, Phil Guwin, granddaughters, Amber Jade NeSmith and Brailyn Paige NeSmith. Richard was retired from the Macon Water Authority after thirty-five years of service. He was a member of the Baptist faith and he was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Myrna NeSmith of Macon, daughter, Tonya NeSmith, sons, Ricky NeSmith, Jr. and Brad NeSmith, five grandchildren, Amy Guwin, Gina Deal, Kaitlyn NeSmith, Ricky NeSmith III, Taylor NeSmith, two great grandchildren, Leelex Guwin, and Bentley Tryan, siblings, Cynthia Tanton, Charlotte Hutcheson (Bobby), Connie Paul (Randy) and several nieces and nephews.
