Richard "Dick" Chauncey Manwaring, 89, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at North Macon Presbyterian Church with Rev. Hunter Stevenson officiating. Interment will be 1:00pm, Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Greenview Cemetery in Greensboro, Georgia.
Mr. Manwaring was born April 9, 1935, in Oswego, New York, to the late Richard John Manwaring and Carita Alden Manwaring. He honorably served his country with the United States Air Force. Mr. Manwaring was a devoted member of North Macon Presbyterian Church and was a graduate of Syracuse University. He was a retired executive for General Motors Corporation. He led a life of service, highlighted by his work with the American Red Cross as well as the Greene County Food Pantry. He was a former chaplain for the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks and mentored many young people in his community. Mr. Manwaring loved to lead bible studies, tend to his garden and travel, both abroad and aboard cruise ships. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Connie Manwaring.
Mr. Manwaring is survived by his wife: Sandy Manwaring; son: Scott Manwaring (Elisa); stepchildren: Kristin Boucher, Dale Gustafson; grandchildren: Grace Manwaring, Peyton Manwaring and Davis Manwaring; and a step-granddaughter: Hannah Boucher.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff of Carlyle Place for their kind and compassionate care extended to Richard during his final days.
