Reba Dorough Mitchell, 75, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 following a courageous battle with ALS. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Keith Scott officiating. The family will meet friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on Friday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon 31210.
Reba was a born and educated in Cordele graduating from Cordele High School and GAB, Macon. She was a dedicated homemaker being an excellent cook and seamstress and enjoyed crafts. Reba was a member of the Red Hat Society and Macon Motor Boat Club since 1963. She was the daughter of the late James D. “Ted” Dorough. And was of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include her devoted family, her husband of fifty-six years, Julius M. Mitchell of Byron; her son, Chris (Karyn) Mitchell of Warner Robins; two granddaughters, Bailey and Taylor Mitchell; her mother, Nell Clark Dorough, Tallahassee, FL; her sister, Janet Stanton of Tallahassee and several nieces and nephews.
