Raymond Earl Clark, 84, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tim Long and Minister Steve Waller will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
Mr. Clark was born in Macon, the son of the late Harry and Ruth Reynolds Clark. He retired as Supervisor of Functional Testing, with 34 years of service at RAFB. Mr. Clark was a United States Marine veteran entering service in 1946 and again in 1953. He was a member of First Evangelical Church, a member of Tyrian Lodge #111 F&AM, and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. As a member of the Shriners Road Runners, Mr. Clark transported children to the Shrine Hospital. He was an avid golfer, having had 11 hole in ones, and was past president of the Middle Georgia Seniors Golf Association. Mr. Clark was a member of the Pharaoh Social Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 55 years, Luette Clark and 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mr. Clark always planted a garden and shared with his neighbors, friends, and family. He enjoyed fishing especially for bream with his Bream Buster Pole that he fished with for over 20 years.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife, Sylvia Clark of Macon; daughter, Brenda (Robert) Griggers of Marshallville; step-children, Sherry Wilkeson of Macon, and Wayne (Karen) Rigby of Kathleen; grandchildren, Jeremy and Tom Griggers, step-grandchildren, Lee Wilkeson, Brandi Williams, Lindsey and Dillon Rigby; 6 great-grandchildren, of which one was being raised by Raymond.
