Nelda Adkins Mason, 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Bass Road. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Morton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Nelda was born in Stringer, MS to the late Roy N. and Lola Valentine Adkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Gresham Mason, her daughter-in-law, Natalie Mason, and her siblings, Trudie Stringer, Helen Ray Jeffcoat, Louise King and Eddie Adkins. She was an Executive of Rent-All-Service Inc. and was a real estate agent and broker. Nelda was a member of the American Rental Association and was a Republican Supporter. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and lake activities.
She is survived by her children, Tom Mason Jr., and Pamela Mason (Blanton Owens), grandchildren, Adam Mason (Rena) Bell, Scott (Margaret) Chalkley, Jonathon Chalkley, Mitchell (Brittany) Turner, Bradley (Ginny Rae) Turner, great grandchildren, Hughes Chalkley, Weller Chalkley, Grady Bell, Sara Mason Bell, Miller Bell, Tristan Turner, Troy Turner, Millie Turner, and Jamison Turner, and several nieces and nephews.
