Dr. Othman was born on April 25, 1947 in Jerusalem, Palestine. He attended medical school at the University of Sevilla in Spain beginning in 1966. Following the completion of his degree, Dr. Othman returned to his hometown of Jerusalem, Palestine to complete his fellowship. In 1974, he and his new bride moved to the United States to begin his internal medicine residency in Duluth, Minnesota. They then moved to Charleston, West Virginia and Louisville, Kentucky before settling in Macon, Georgia in 1978.
Dr. Othman helped thousands of people over the course of his 50 year career as a physician. He was unwavering in the deep passion and genuine love he demonstrated while caring for his patients. His professional career was tirelessly dedicated to helping others, and he was especially passionate about giving a voice to those who don’t have one.
Dr. Othman was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and adored his granddaughters. He could often be found enjoying the outdoors with his granddaughters.
Dr. Othman was preceded in death by his parents, Ata and Amneh Othman, his brother Ribhi Othman and his sister, Rabha Othman.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Aida Othman, his son, Samer Othman (Dunia) of Macon, and his two granddaughters, Nora and Hanna, his nephews Sinan and Anas Othman, his niece Zeina Othman, his brothers, sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation at Snows Memorial Chapel, 1419 Basd Road, on Friday, August 16th from 4:00-6:00 pm.
