Mildred Mathews Moore, age 85, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. A private graveside for Mildred will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Riverside Cemetery, 66 Madison Street, Macon, GA 31201. Following the private graveside will be a Visitation/Celebration of Life from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a short service being held at 12:00 Noon at Moore's Furniture, 2950 Riverside Drive, Macon, GA 31204. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to All About Animals, 101 Riverside Drive, Macon 31201 or Wesley Glen Ministries, 4580 N. Mumford Road, Macon 31210 or Goodwill Works Foundation, 5171 Eisenhower Parkway, Macon 31206.
Mildred was born in Ft. Valley, Georgia the daughter of the late Margaret Frierson Mathews and William Edgar Mathews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Carson Moore, Sr. and her grandson, Jackson Carson Moore, III. Mildred was a former member of Idle Hour Golf & Country Club, and Riverside United Methodist Church. She had a passion for gardening and truly loved her family. She will be missed by many.
Mildred is survived by her children, Margaret "Mimi" Schilling (Drew) and Jack Moore, Jr.; grandchildren, Carson Schilling (Suzanne), Andi Schilling Lischer (Nathan), Parker Moore (Haley); nephew, Dr. Hank Moore (McKenzie); niece, Ginny Moore Reeves (Rob); brother, Edgar "Ed" Mathews (Cile).
Snow's Memorial Chapel, Bass Road, has charge of arrangements.
