Mary Tommie “Prissy” Clark Terry, died peacefully at home, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 21, at 4 o’clock, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park and Rev. Jerry Akin will be officating. A reception will follow the celebration service. The family suggest donations be made to, American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Prissy was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Joseph Jefferson and Evelyn Tommie Andrews Clark. She was a graduate of Georgia State College. Mrs. Terry retired from the Bibb County Board of Education after 31 years of teaching special needs children. After retiring, she continued to tutor special needs children for Bibb County and was a long time member of the Georgia Teachers Association. Prissy was preceded in death by her second husband, William F. Terry, and a brother, Kenneth J. Clark.
Survivors include her nephews, Jeff and Doug Clark; niece, Cathryn Clark Cohenour; sister in law, Letitia Sammons Clark; brother in law, Charles and Jane Grinstead; 9 great nieces and nephews; a host of greatly loved friends; her first husband, Larry Davis and his sons, Troy and Ben Davis; and her dearest companion, her cat Utley. The family also wishes to extend a special word of thanks to Prissy’s caregiver, Tracy J. Doherty.
