Dear David and Christy, Evelyne and I are so sorry to hear about your mothers' passing. I have learned over the years through our friendship what a truly extraordinary woman your mother was. I hope that I was of some help to you and your mother, as a physician, in recent weeks. Death of a parent is never easy, but know that you will see her again. If you or Chisty need to talk about anything, please do not hesitate to call.

This was the toughest woman I've ever met. She never asked more of you than the best you had. She never settled for anything substandard. I never knew her as Mema, only Mrs. Walsh ans she was a "Mrs." in every aspect! We will miss you dearly!

I thought the world of Mrs Walsh.  A southern lady who always treated me with kindness.  My grandfather, Bob Dunlap always said she ran a great business.  She will be missed.

To the Walsh family, may God console each of you during your bereavement and bless each of you in a special way.

I really do not know if I can get though this or not. I have so much I could say about a woman , I not only have come to love as my second mom but I have also grown to admire her as well. My emotions are all over the place but I will do my best because she meant so very much to me.

Some of you have known "MeMaw" as I call her, far longer than I have and I'm sure could tell you a lot more about her than I can but I want to share just a few things I have learned about her in the few years I have had the pleasure of knowing her. I hope I can find the words to do her justice.

The first thing I would  like to say is she never treated me as just a daughter-in-law but she treated me as one of her own. Now don't get me wrong , she was just as quick to scold me when she thought I was wrong , just as she did the rest of her children but she always made me feel loved while doing her scolding. And yet on the other hand , when she agreed with me or thought I was right she was always ready to give me praise and recognition. Al in all I always knew where I stood with MeMaw.

In the few years I got to know and love her I saw that she lived her life in the most positive way. She could see or find some good in everyone she met and she encouraged others to do the same.

She never wanted people to go out of their way for her, yet she was quick to go out of her way for someone else. Her actions and examples should be emulated by all of us. She was a true role model.

MeMaw was a very active and giving part of this community. She was a vital part of The Cherry Blossom Festival, The Med Cen Foundation and countless other organizations in this community. She was the driving force behind  A Free-Standing Hospice Home that she was asked to spearhead for Hospice of Central Georgia that opened here in September of 2010. She even sponsored a child in India for 18 years. Any thing  any one has asked  of her she has freely given.  Her support  for this community will be greatly missed.

She has touched the lives of so many people and even though she is gone her spirit will live on in her children, grandchildren, me and this community.

I'll just close now with a quote from The Wizard Of Oz:

To the family of Joyce Walsh. i hate that I was unable to attend the services. Your mother hired me and always treated me with respect. I visited with her a couple of times when she was in the hospital and she always called me by name when I came in. She was a great woman to know and work for. I'm very sorry for the loss. macon loses a fine lady. she always made sure Sheila was at work when she went to rehab. We will miss her.

David, Sherry and Pam I am sorry to learn of your Mom's passing, as you all know, in 1980 my life and my family's life was made so much better by your parent's trust in me to become an employee with their company. I will always treasure the memories of my time of employment with them, never have I been involved with a more credible employer than your Family.  Mrs.Joyce was one of the great Business Leaders in this community, touching many lives and never seeking the credit for it.  May God's Peace and Comfort be with you all during this difficult time.
