Martha "Marcie" Kimbro

Martha Kimbro, born October 20, 1943 in Greenville, Mississippi, was called home to the Lord on February 10, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00am at Lizella United Methodist Church with Rev. Josh Gale officiating. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends Friday night from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Friday night at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lizella United Methodist Church, 2920 S. Lizella Road, Lizella, 31052.

Mrs. Kimbro was known as “Marcie” to her friends and was an active member of Lizella United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and participated in Bible study regularly.

Mrs. Kimbro attended Southwestern at Memphis for her undergraduate degree and Mercer University for graduate school. As an elementary school teacher in the Bibb County Public Schools, she took great pride and joy in shaping young minds.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, John “Butch” Kimbro (November 8, 1996). She will be dearly missed by her son, John, his wife, Beth, and their two sons, Hayden and Liam, of Duxbury, Massachusetts; her brother, Curt, and his wife, Peggy, of Memphis, Tennessee; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She leaves behind close friends and neighbors who have provided comfort and support throughout her life.
