Marion Hammock, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Dumas and Rev. John Strickland officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Marion was born in Butler, Georgia to the late Willie Mae Edmonson and Leonard Prather Hammock. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Tincie Hammock; children, Marion Theresa Lovinggood, Christopher Dale Woodard, Jay Marion Hammock, Phillip Otis Hammock; sister, Mildred Peterman; and grandson, Joshua Woodard. He was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church on Wimbish. Marion was the owner of Thomaston’s first bumper to bumper and drove a truck for Turkey Creek. He was also part owner of S&M machine shop. Marion and his two sons enjoyed driving go-karts and were even named national go-kart champions. Later in life, Marion opened Marion’s lawn care repairs. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Those left to cherish his memory include his grandchildren, Shaun (Faith) Lovinggood, Brandi (William) Holt, Jason Hammock, Justin Hammock (Katherine), Kristen (Chris) Woodard Boggs, Tiffany Woodard, Timothy (Stacy) Martin; great grandchildren, Dylan Lovinggood, Xavier Lovinggood, Myleigh Lovinggood, Braylen Lovinggood, Sarina Lovinggood, Aria Lovinggood, Kynzlee Woodard, Zayden Boggs, Kamden Boggs, Jada Dupree, Chad Dupree, Ben Dupree, Timothy Martin Jr., Zoey Martin, Laney Martin, and Raylen Martin; brothers, Lamar (Sandra) and Rob Hammock; and daughter-in-law, Angie Hammock.
