Marion E. Garvin, 78, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 at a local health and rehab facility. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Mimbs officiating. Burial will be private. The family will meet friends from 5 – 7 p.m., Friday at the funeral home and suggests that those who wish make memorial contributions to The Children’s Hospital at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, 777 Hemlock Street, Macon 31201.
Mr. Garvin, son of the late Ellis E. and Annie Belle Champion Garvin, was a lifelong resident of Macon. He was retired from R. F. Truesdell Trucking Company as Southeastern regional manager/terminal manager and safety director and worked for Butler Toyota as a location driver. Mr. Garvin was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Betty J. Garvin of Juliette; his daughters, Teresa (Barry) Wilder of Tellico Plains, TN and Jeanne (Danny) Howell of Gray; his grandson, Nicholas (Nancy) Eddy; great-granddaughter, Peyton Nichole Eddy, all of Augusta.
