MACON - Mrs. Margaret “Bob” Bush Lanier, 87, of Macon passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22 at 11:00 am at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Peter Gibson and Perry Smith will officiate. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Cross Keys United Methodist Church, 1825 Jeffersonville Road, Macon, Georgia 31217 or to United Hospice, 2484 Ingleside Avenue, Suite B-201, Macon, Georgia 31204.
Mrs. Lanier was born in Zebulon, Georgia, the daughter of the late Jeff Bush and Sue Ballard Bush and was the widow of John Wallace Lanier. She was a graduate of Meriwether County High School. Mrs. Lanier was a homemaker and retired from Belk Matthews Department Store. She was a loyal and faithful member of Cross Keys United Methodist Church, the Allie Terry Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by one daughter: Margaret Ann Lanier Hardy.
Mrs. Lanier is survived by her daughter; Kathy Lanier (G. Shirley) Myers of Macon, 2 grandchildren, John Patrick (Tiffany) Myers of Wake Forest, NC., and Stephanie Lanier-George of Forsyth, 5 great-grandchildren, Keegan Lanier George, Kathryn Elizabeth George, John Cameron Myers, Kohlton Lanier Myers and Carson Patrick Myers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
