Lillian Dorman Murphy

Lillian Murphy, 97, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, January 21, 2016. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 25, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Holland officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Ave., Macon, 31204 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 886 Mulberry St., Macon, 31201.

Mrs. Murphy was born in Manchester, Georgia to the late Clifford and Winifred Gladin Dorman and was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas G. Avant and George Harrison Murphy; sister, Lucile Dorman Ramey; and son, Randall Harrison Murphy. She was a member of Vineville Baptist Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class, and the XYZ Club. Mrs. Murphy was a seamstress and enjoyed music and gardening and volunteered with various organizations.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Bell; grandson, Frederik C.W. Bell; son-in-law, Morris Bell; and numerous cousins.
