Lewis C. “L.C.” Myrick, Jr. 93, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held for immediate family only at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Elder Garry Hall will officiate. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church, 188 Fellowship Church Road, Fort Valley GA 31030 or to Heartland Hospice, 200 Northside Crossing, Macon GA 31210.
L.C. was born in Taylor County, Georgia to the late Lewis C. Myrick, Sr. and Josie Hortman Myrick. He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Emmie Dell Myrick. He was retired as a shipping clerk with Nabisco Company after forty years of service and then he worked with the Bibb County Sherriff’s Department for ten years. L.C. was a master carpenter who built several homes and sea walls. He was a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church and was the song leader. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Hortman, daughter, Brenda Hadden Willis of Lizella; son, Bobby Myrick (Donna) of Macon; his granddaughter, Amanda Hadden Cook (Tim) of Macon; his great grandson, Austin Alan Cook of Macon; step-children, Wanda (Tom) Zellner of Byron, Chris (Dianne) Hortman of Byron and Sandra Womack of Byron and several step-grandchildren.
