MACON – Leverette Edwards, 87, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. The Rev. Ronnie Griffin will officiate. The family will meet friends form 1 p.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home. They suggest that those who wish may make memorial donations to your favorite charity.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Greenway Edwards in December of last year. Born in Talifarro County, he was the son of the late Samuel S. and Ruby Stewart Edwards. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II and was retired from Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Edwards attended Shurlington Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his sister, Ann Smith of Augusta; his brothers, Mercer B. Edwards of Macon and Billy Edwards of Social Circle; nieces, Maranah Sauter of LaGrange, Sonja Taylor of Daytona Beach and Barbara Rasmussin of Arizona; nephews, Boyd Edwards of Macon, Hayward Edwards of Social Circle, Wayne Smith of Augusta, Robert Greenway of Cape May, NJ and Curtis Greenway of Westminister, MD.
