Kenny H. Scruggs, Jr., 66, left this earthly life and entered through the gates of heaven on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Martha Bowman Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Steffen officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations may be made to Martha Bowman Methodist Church, 500 Bass Road, Macon GA 31210, to support the Revisioning Building Project at the church.
Mr. Scruggs was born on June 2, 1948 in Asheville, North Carolina and was raised in Florida and resided in Macon, Georgia for the past 39 years. After serving in the United States Air Force for four years, he attended and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was employed for thirty years by J. M. Huber Corporation and for ten years at Warner Robins Air Base. He was a member of Martha Bowman United Methodist Church and the Frances Asbury Sunday School Class. He was an avid Florida Gator football fan, and enjoyed working on the restoration of his 1967 Road Runner. He loved Mexican food and cold beverages to wash it down. More than anything in his life, he loved his sweet wife.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the many close friends who have been supportive and caring during this difficult time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Eleanor Scruggs. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sherry Scruggs of Macon, son, Denny Cox, and daughter-in-law, Colleen, and grandchildren, Reagan and John.
