Keith Alan Walker, 56, of Macon, and formerly of Forsyth, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his residence. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:00p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016 at Ingleside Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. David Peterson officiating. Burial will be private. The family will meet friends during a reception from 2:30pm to service time in the Fellowship Hall. Keith was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Lou Martin Walker. He was employed with Trophy Ford at the time of his death. Previous employers include Bass Pro Shops, Walsh Honda, Riverside Ford, Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation, and Borden Dairies.
Keith graduated from Southwest High School in 1977. While a member of the Varsity Baseball team, he was one of a trio of superlative hitters dubbed “Murderer’s Row” by the Macon Telegraph. He was an avid outdoorsman; in his earlier years hunting a variety of game, and then later in life he enjoyed and took great pride in creating and maintaining the lawn and landscaping around his home. Keith was a member of the Bowden Golf Club and River Forest Golf Club. He loved College Football, particularly SEC Football, and most especially Tennessee Volunteers Football.
Keith is remembered by his sons as an excellent teacher and coach not only in their athletic endeavors, but also in many other aspects of their lives.
Keith was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church. Over the years he served as a Sunday morning greeter and for several years he cared for newborns in the church nursery.
Keith was a loving and cherished husband and father. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Lecia Greene Walker, sons Joshua Jobe Walker and Zachary Martin Walker, his father Bobby Kenneth Walker, his sisters Kelly (Brian) Bethea and Kim (Michael) Harnage, one nephew and five nieces, and his beloved dachshunds Trixie and Max.
