Judy Elaine Torbert Walker, 74, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2023. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park with Rev. Benjamin Newberry officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Judy was born in Barnesville, Georgia to the late Homer Hearby and Julia Renee Williams Tobert and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Walker; brothers, Jerry and Terry Torbert and sister, Nancy Broadaway. She was retired after 25 years with the Bibb Board of Education and loved teaching children. She enjoyed gardening, birding, crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her son, John (Karen) Walker of Macon; daughter, Meredith (Chris) Chase of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Claire and Gabriel Chase, and extended family.
