Juanita (Nita) Ogletree Davis, 81, passed away after a brief illness on October 25, 2018 surrounded by her family. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Reverend Stephen N. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Born on December 31, 1936, Nita was the daughter of Ruth Baker Ogletree and Robert Louie Ogletree. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who will be dearly missed by all whom she touched. She was a retired dental assistant and gifted homemaker. She was a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church and the J.C. Johnson Sunday School Class. She was a former member of Log Cabin Baptist Church where she taught Junior Girls Sunday School, Mission Friends and Vacation Bible School for many years. She dedicated her life to providing a nurturing, Christian home for her family. She was a quintessential Southern lady. Hospitality was her love language and she delighted in sharing that love through her passion for cooking. Her care and concern for others made everyone feel special. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Frances King, Margaret Wyant, Raymond W. Hood, Robert L. Ogletree, Jr. and Miriam Davis. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 58 years, Bert A. Davis, daughters, Lynn Davis Dunn, Leigh Ann Davis Hall (Dr. William A. Hall, Jr); grandchildren James Michael Dunn (Angela), Mindy Hall Van Dyke (Lloyd), William Anthony Hall, III (Angie), Dr. Eric Neal Hall, Timothy Davis Hall (Leslie), Katie Hall Martin (Taylor) and by one great-grandson, Timothy Davis Hall, Jr.; beloved sisters, Ruth Howarth and Sylvia Fountain, treasured friend for over seventy years, Mary Evelyn Foose, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
