Joye Moore Wilson, 83, passed away on April 4, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at United Community Church with Pastor Cory Maurer officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Joye was born June 19, 1941, to the late Naomi and William Moore in Charleston, South Carolina. She was a kindergarten teacher and later owned and operated A Child’s Place where she continued to teach children. Joye loved to see what the world had to offer. She travelled all around the world, making stops in Europe, South America, Germany, Canada, and Italy enjoying every moment of it with her husband by her side. She was also an avid football fan, cheering on her beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Joye was a charter member of United Community Church. Above all, Joye loved spending time with her family and her dog, Missy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 66 years, Thomas Wilson, Sr.; her children, Tom Wilson, Jr. (Bonnie) and Holly Hall (Thurman); grandchildren, Bo Dominy, Nick Dominy (Mayra), Morgan Spires (Hal), Hayli Brewer (Allen) and Cassidy Hall; her great-grandchildren, Canaan Dominy, Shiloh Dominy, and Lucas Spires; sister, Patricia Cowart; several nieces and nephews; and her Shih-Tzu, Missy.
Joye was preceded in death by her brothers, William Moore and Ralph Moore; and mother, Naomi Moore.
