FORT VALLEY - Blanche Joyce Self Deeb, of Fort Valley, Georgia, went home to her heavenly Father on Thursday, March 22, 2012. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1P.M. on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Poplar Street in Macon. Father Allan McDonald of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Father Nicholas Mansell of St. Juliana's Church in Fort Valley will conduct services. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. A Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. Friday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. Mrs. Deeb was born on March 12, 1938, in Kathleen, Georgia, to the late parentage of Sally V. Leverette Self and Johnny Columbus Self, Sr. She graduated in 1955 from Warner Robins High School. Mrs. Deeb was a member of St. Juliana's Catholic Church in Fort Valley, Georgia.
In 1955, Mrs. Deeb married Johnny A. Deeb, Jr., and lived in Macon where they raised four children, Sharon (Jimmy) Kirby, Johnny A. Deeb, III, Mark A. Deeb, Sr. (Liz), and Kimberly (Shannon) Cole; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Martha (Dutch) Frank and Tena Paige; one brother, John Self; and her beloved dog and companion, "Sargent".
Mrs. Deeb was preceded in death by her parents, Sally and Johnny Self; her sister, Mary Holmes; grandson, Mark A. Deeb, Jr. -Mrs. Deeb was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her "special way with all babies".
