Joseph Dan (Danny) Howell Sr., age 70, of Gray, passed away Friday, August 16, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends. A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Minister Terry Hedden officiating. Flowers are accepted, however contributions may be made to Lewy Body Dementia/Dementia Society, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn GA 30047.
Danny was born in Sparta, Georgia to the late James Alfred Howell and Emma Ozene Story Howell. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Fay Minter, Ruth Zagar and Betty Jean Marsh, Margaurette Byrd, and brothers, Ezra Howell, James Howell, Dennis Johnson and Cary Story.
Danny attended Ingleside Baptist Church and was a welder/fabricator at Martin Marietta for 30 years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved to play pranks/joke and laugh all day. He loved old westerns, country music, GA Bulldogs and working with his hands.

Danny is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jeanne Howell; sons, Joe (Missy) Howell, Jason (Sunni) Kiser, Kenny Howell, granddaughters, Laci (Ryan) Roughton, and Lexi (Wyade) Kiser, grandson, Axel Howell, sisters, Rachel McDaniel and Martha Howell both of Milledgeville; and brothers, David (Mary) Howell of Lavonia and Tim (Debbi) Howell of Tennessee, mother-in-law, Betty Jean Garvin, sister-in-law, Teresa (Barry) Wilder and Ann Howell, brother-in-law, Leonard Minter, and a large number of nieces and nephews.
