John “Jack” Ruan Morgan, Sr., 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019. A visitation and reception will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice, 3312 Northside Drive, Suite D-250, Macon, GA 31210.
Jack was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Charles C. and Margaret R. Morgan, Sr. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie Beall Morgan, brother, Charles Morgan, Jr. and sister, Margaret Powell. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jack was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the Georgia State Health Department after many years of service. Jack was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and hunting and coaching youth sports.
He is survived by his sons; John R. (Donna) Morgan, Jr. of Macon, Mark H. Morgan of Macon, six grandchildren, Jackson, Taylor, Kayla, William and Luke Morgan and Thomas Baugh, Jr. and one great grandchild, Abigayle Baugh.
