John Jones, 75, realtor with Fickling & Co. for 25 years, went home to be with his precious LORD & SAVIOR JESUS on April 19, 2017, and will be reunited with his beautiful and Godly wife Nellie, who died of cancer three years ago. WHAT A DAY OF REJOICING THIS WILL BE!!
John was preceded in death by his parents Roland Warnell Jones, Sr. and Agnes Carridean Brown Jones, his wife Nellie Dougherty Jones, and two brothers Roland W. Jones, Jr., and James H. Jones.
He is survived by two children, John Richard (Ricky) Jones and Katherine (Kathy) Jones Milton (Gary) all of Macon, 4 Grandchildren, Megan, Trey, Jessica Milton, and Emily Milton Brooks (Ashton). A cousin, Tom Anderson (Vicki), Brother –in – Law, Richard S. Dougherty (Phyllis). Two sisters, Ruby Brannen of Brunswick, GA, and Mary Peacock of Cumming, GA. Two brothers, Joseph Jones (Ruby) of Brunswick, GA and Robert Jones (Carolyn) of Odum, GA. A Sister– in– Law, Shelma Jones Wyeth, (Don) of St. Simons Island, GA and several nieces and nephews.
John was a native of Wayne County Georgia, and a graduate of the University of Florida. John has been a realtor for 45 years, previous president of a local realtor association, nominee for the Georgia Association of Realtors, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Macon Chamber of Commerce. John worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. for 2 ½ years and 2 ½ years in the Florida Field office, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta in Jacksonville, Fl. He then was employed in IT management with BCBS of Florida prior to entering the Real Estate profession in Florida in 1972.
John had a liver transplant at Emory University Hospital in February 2007. Within 3 weeks of his transplant, while still at Emory, he had two heart attacks and kidney failure at age 65. God provided a miracle and impressed upon him to write a book giving God all the glory for his miraculous healing. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Northway Church in Macon with the Rev. Kevin Mills officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the Church. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be sent to Northway Church, 5915 Zebulon Rd., Macon, GA 31210.
