John C. Crowley Jr., 98, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Snow’s @ Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Mr. Crowley's grandson, Rev. Harley Gentry, will officiate. Burial will be private for family only in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests that those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, 1405 Clifton Road, N.E., Atlanta GA 30322.
John was born in Dallas, TX to the late John C. and Lucy Benningfield Crowley. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church for 51 years. John was a tile setter since 1949 and was the owner of Crowley and Sons Ceramic Tile. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lois Crowley, his two sons, Johnny Crowley, and Charles Crowley brother, Kenneth Crowley and two sisters, Mamie Wilson and Irene Crowley.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Doug) Gentry; grandchildren, Sean (Karen) Crowley, Jennifer Crowley, Chuck (Amy) Crowley, Rev. Harley (Stevie) Gentry, Cassie (Paul) Hedges, Tyler (Cassidy) Crowley, and Jessica (Blaine) Arnold, seventeen great grandchildren ; and three great great grandchildren, niece, Nancy (Jay) Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.
