Johanna Ashwell Brooks

Johanna Ashwell Brooks, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 17, 2015. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 19, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Feener officiating. Entombment will be private. The family invites friends and guests to a reception following the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make donations to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Rd., Macon, 31210.

Mrs. Brooks was born in Phoebus, Virginia to the late Fred and Bessie Hill Ashwell and was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles H. Brooks, Jr. She was a homemaker and a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Brooks was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Survivors include her daughter, Jana (Russell) Boyd; grandchildren, Holly (Kyle) Collins and Heather (Daniel) Bennett; and sister, Evelyn Shaw.
