Joanne Godwin Barton, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, April 2, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Bishop Tim Kelly and Pastor Jeremy Singletary officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Joanne was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Hardy and Gladys Pringle Godwin and was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Barton. She was in Sales for Farmer’s Furniture and a member of Gateway Fellowship Church of God. Joanne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her children, Ron Roberts, Regina (Eddie) Gibbons and Rene (Foster) McMullen; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
