Jimmy Harold Taylor, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. A Celebration of his life will be held Monday, November 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Mikado Baptist Church. Burial will be private at Sardis Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Chambless and the Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Horace Harrison and Rosalie Andrews Taylor. He was a graduate of Willingham High School class of 1960 where he also played football. Jimmy served his country in the United States Air Force as a Captain and was retired from the Macon Bibb County Health Department. He was a member of Mikado Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Choir member and AWANA leader. Jimmy was an avid hunter and a member of the 8 In the Hole Hunting Club. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Janice Norris Taylor of Macon; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Prince of Roswell; son, Jonathan (Tamie) Taylor of Tifton; grandchildren, Peyton Prince, Sadie Prince, Piper Prince, Scottie Jan Prince, Andrew Taylor, Hayden Taylor, Joshua Taylor; sister, Vickie (Jimmy) Head of Macon, and several nieces and nephews.
