James Isaac "Jim" Warren III passed away on Wednesday, January 7. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 10 at 2 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street with the Rev. Steve Krysalka officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:15 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, North Gate.
Jim was born in Savannah, Georgia, March 18, 1951, the son of James Isaac Warren Jr. and Katharine Ritter, the eldest of three children.
A proud attendee of Georgia Tech and graduate of West Georgia, Jim attended Mercer's Walter F. George School of Law, earning his degree in 1978. He began his law career as an assistant public defender in Dublin, before joining the law office of Avon Buice in Warner Robins. After his tenure there, he remained in Warner Robins, where he served for over 35 years, opening his own practice as James I. Warren III, Attorney at Law.
Jim was an avid car enthusiast and outdoorsman, with a particular love of running, biking, and hikes. He was especially fond of sharing these adventures with his family, with whom he would often camp in the mountains of North Carolina. It was this family, who, above all else, he was immensely proud of, enjoying their accomplishments as his own, and holding with certainty that nothing but the utmost success and prosperity awaited each of his children.
A learned man, a lover of music and film, he took great joy in watching his son pursue an education in mathematics and physics, and in supporting his daughters as they pursued careers in acting and singing. A guitarist and musician himself, he could often be found working the sound board at his youngest daughter's performances.
Having left us too soon, at the age of 63, he is preceded in death by his mother, and survived by his father, his brother Sam Warren (Cindy), sister Susan Krysalka (Richard), wife Louise Tharpe Burkhalter Warren, his children, James Isaac Warren IV, Elizabeth Everitt Ousley Warren, and Katharine Louise Hill Warren, and 11 nieces and nephews.
