Jerry Allen Smith Sr.

Jerry Allen Smith, Sr., 66, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 surrounded by his family. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Brad Marchman officiating. The family will meet friends on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to donor’s favorite charity.

Mr. Smith was born in Macon, Georgia to the late John Henry and Ruby Mathis Smith. Jerry was Vice-President and Co-Owner of Insul-Con, Inc. He was a Mason, and was of the Baptist faith. Jerry was a very giving and generous person, known for his gentle sprit and heart of gold. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He considered his Insul-Con associates his extended family.

He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Lea Vastakis Smith of Macon, son; Allen (Shelly) Smith of North Point, FL, daughter; Julie Smith Daniel (Chris) of Macon, step-daughter; Anna (Benjamin) Kilgore of Macon, grandchildren; Daltyn Smith and Tanner Daniel, brother; Charles Smith, sister; Barbara Prince of Forsyth, and several nieces and nephews, best friend and other brother; Joe (Betty) Belflower of Fort Valley and his four legged faithful friend, Samantha.
