Jean Macleod Brennan, age 84, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the Memorial Garden in the back of Christ Church. Entry will be through the alley located in the rear of the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 582 Walnut Street, Macon 31201.
Mrs. Brennan was born in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Sarah Frances Wilkerson Macleod and Donald Patton Macleod and was the widow of William R. Brennan. She was a retired Freelance Commercial Artist and a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
Jean was born on Christmas Day in 1936. She lived briefly in Lancaster, PA but grew up in Jacksonville, FL. She graduated from Florida State University in 1959 with a BS in Art and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She married William R. Brennan (Bill) in 1959. Jean and Bill lived in Lakeland, FL before moving to Tampa, FL where they raised their three children. Bill’s job took them to Nashville, TN for a few years before settling in Macon, GA and then retiring.
Jean was a member of the Advertising Club of Macon, Historic Heartland Travel Association, and volunteered her commercial art talents to numerous organizations in and around Macon. She was a recipient of a Gold Addy Award and had her photo montage artwork featured on the cover of Macon Magazine’s 2nd Edition. She has been a member of Christ Episcopal Church since moving to Macon.
She enjoyed playing tennis, golf, art and collecting miniatures.
Mrs. Brennan is survived by her children, Melinda Brennan Olmstead of Macon, William R. Brennan, Jr. (Lisa) of Acworth, and Stuart A. Brennan (Gretchen) of Lake Worth, FL; grandchildren, Laura Montanaro (Michael), Clifton Olmstead, Jr., Logan Brennan (Mary Beth), Laurel Meyers (Giorgio), and Hunter Brennan; great-grandchildren, Elia Meyers, and Nathan Brennan; brother, Donald P. Macleod, Jr. MD (Donna); niece, Merrill Stanton (Tim); and nephew, Gardner Macleod.
