JB Upshaw

J.B. Upshaw, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Family will greet friends on Monday, July 31, 2023 beginning at 10:00 am at Snow's Funerals and Cremations at Macon Memorial Park until service time at 11:00 am. Pastor Wayne Lenderman will be officiating the celebration of life. Burial will be private at Middle Georgia Memorial Gardens.

J.B was born to the late Lonnie and Lillace Upshaw. In October of 1954 he married the love of his life, Nellie Upshaw, who passed earlier this year. During their 70 years of marriage they had 4 boys and enjoyed watching their family grow to include grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. J.B. worked as a heavy equipment operator at Engelhard Kaolin Mine. He enjoyed fishing, working as the family handyman, and sitting around the dining room table to play poker with his family. J.B. attended The Church in the Orchard in Fort Valley, where he got baptized on June 4th of this year. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather.

J.B. was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Nellie Upshaw, two sons, Joseph Franklin Upshaw and Roger Dale Upshaw, his granddaughter, Nicole Upshaw Land and his siblings, Cecil Upshaw (Debbi), Larry Upshaw (Mary Ann), Tommy Upshaw, Christine Rogers (Billy), Loise Jones (Walker).

He is survived by his children, Robert (Patti) Upshaw, Jerry (Patricia) Upshaw, siblings, Calvin Upshaw (Mimi), James Upshaw (Jo), Ann Wilson (Billy Jo), and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
