Janice Richardson Nordan, 91, passed into Heaven and was greeted by her Lord and Savior on July 25, 2021. She was born on a small farm in Coffee County, Alabama, (where she was later crowned as second winner in the Maid of Cotton contest). She was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Kenneth Nordan and is survived by her sister, Evelyn Richardson; and daughters, Renee and Michele (Kenny). She was a proud grandmother of four loving grandchildren, Kathleen (Hiram), Andrew, Ryan (Katelyn) and Dylan and was tickled by the recent addition of three precious great grandsons, Kane and twins, Huckberry and Francis.
Janice was a passionate gardener (delighting in the “rehoming" of plants), an avid bird watcher and tennis player extraordinaire. She was an energetic PE teacher and beloved softball and tennis coach at FPD for twenty-four enthusiastic years. Janice was a long time and devoted member of Mulberry United Methodist Church and Joy Sunday School Class.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Creede Hinshaw officiating, followed by a reception in the parlor. A private family burial will take place at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church.
And lastly, deep heartfelt thanks to all of the kindred spirits who made her life that much sweeter.
Tributes are welcomed at www.maconmp.com.
Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of the arrangements.
